Moon and Star Glass

The Moon and Star pattern glassware was originally produced in the late 1800s, and has continued to be manufactured through the years by various glass companies.  The pattern is extremely popular, and has been collected and used by many people over the years.  The pattern is not as simple as it sounds, when it comes to identifying the makers of the pieces that still exist, except for the modern Weisher products, which are marked.  For a collector to correctly identify the maker of a particular piece, there must be a good deal of knowledge involved.  There are many beautiful pieces in many lovely colors and shapes.  Collecting Moon and Star glass is rewarding for its beauty and durability, but there is more to it than meets the eye.  It is a pattern that is well worth taking the time to learn and collect.
